God is the author of light. God said, “Let there be light” and it was so. Light is what we as believers carry within us. It is the light within us that shines forth and penetrates a world that is walking in darkness. We must not hide the light within us. We are to go out and be light and walk in light by showing the love of Jesus to others. One way we can walk in light is when we love as we are shining our light. You can stand within a room that is filled with darkness yet, when you light a single candle the darkness flees. That is the power that is within us. That light can penetrate those walking in darkness. God is light, and He is the One that places that light within us when we are born again. The Holy Spirit dwelling within us radiates that light. Never underestimate the effect your light has on those around you. This world needs the Light within you, so let your light shine for Jesus to all the world.
Prayer of Worship
Heavenly Father I thank you for the radiant beauty of light. I thank you that we who were once walking in darkness were saved from it and brought into the light by the blood of Jesus. I thank you that you placed light within our spirit. I thank you Father that darkness can no longer penetrate us. Help us to have eyes to see just how much light is within us and how much that light can be used to help others. Your love shines so bright in and through us. Father thank you that you are a God who brings all things into the light to be healed and seen. God you are radiant and glorious. We praise you Father of light, of truth, of love, in Jesus precious name we pray. Amen.
