Waves of Emotions

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8

I spent most of my life unstable in all my ways.  I was indeed double minded, the world called it many other things but the Bible was right on with the root of my issue. My emotions were like the waves in an ocean on a windy day. I would  call my varying feelings “waves” when they would come over me strongly. I was always wavering in my thinking. I would profess to believe and know something was truth and yet my thoughts and behavior would be in opposition to it.  You can’t have your cake and eat it too when it comes to being double minded, it never works. So what do we do when we are feeling unstable with our emotions and thoughts?  The answer is right in this Word, we go back to the truth.  We take all the wavering and doubting and give it to our Father. We get rooted and grounded in His Love and His Word. We spend intimate time with Him and when He tells us what to do, we just do it.  No looking back and no wavering. Let’s pray.
Prayer of Worship
Heavenly Father, we thank you that You are never double minded.  You do not waver in your promises or waver in Your Word. You are a God who is faithful and stable in all His ways. I ask that you would work in our hearts to make us single minded too.  That we would be stable and consistent.  That we would not allow our emotions to dictate our choices but we would be led and follow your Holy Spirit and Your Word to direct and guide our decisions and steps. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen
