Devotional Passage
“Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, its jealousy as enduring as the grave. Love flashed like fire, the brightest kind of flame.” – Solomon 8:6
Our God is jealous for us. His love for us is so deep, so immense that He spared not even His Son so that we could be in relationship with Him. Anything that comes between that relationship with Him is an idol. God will not let idols stay in the lives of His children. It is because of His deep and jealous love for us that He will let them fall. Idolatry is something that is running rampant not only in the world, but even in the church. We may not have peddlers selling craven idols on the street corner, but we have numerous things that many are buying and worshipping in our world. We shall have no other gods, we shall worship only the one true God in Spirit and Truth. If there is anything or anyone that you are placing before God in your life lay it down, lay it down. He is jealous for you and He is worthy of you being jealous for Him. Love Him as He loves you. He gave all for you, give all of you to Him.
Prayer of Worship
Father I thank you that you love us. Please show us anything that we may of made an idol. Help us to not delay in laying that down and repenting of it. Father you are the only one worthy of our worship and first place in our hearts, bodies and souls. Give us eyes to see the truth, ears to hear the truth and supernatural courage to obey the truth and lay down any idols or potential idols in our life. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
