DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
“The mountains quaked at the presence of the Lord,
Yes, this Sinai, at the presence of the Lord, the God of Israel.
“In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath,
In the days of Jael, the highways were deserted,
And travelers went by roundabout ways.
“The villagers ceased to be; they ceased in Israel
Until I, Deborah, arose,
Until I arose, a mother in Israel.
Judges 5: 5-7
DEVOTIONAL
Often times as women our nurturing instinct tends to kick into overdrive; so we run into the booth and put on our capes (our own way of doing things) with the mindset that we are going to save the world. But what if that is not too far from what the Father is calling for you to do in this season; short of the cape? The Father is saying in order for you to be able to rescue His people from out of the snares of the enemy you have to draw all of your strength from Him. You must stand strong, immovable, fully prepared for the victorious win over the enemy.
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. (Ephesians 6: 10-13)
PRAYER CONFESSION
Heavenly Father we thank You in advance for our win over the enemy. We thank You for choosing us to go out and intercede on behalf of Your people. And with the guidance of your Holy Spirit we will seek deliverance and blessings for Your people through specific prayers at all times. So we pray right now that the right words of prayer will be given to us, and that we will at no time act in our own flesh about the things concerning Your Kingdom. Father, we pray these things and all other things in Jesus Name, Amen.
