27 Jul Who’s Your Driver?

DEVOTIONAL SCRIPTURE

“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you.” – Hebrews 10:35

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Who’s your driver? When this question is positioned, we automatically we think about who’s driving us to different places. But I am actually referring to the Driver of your life spiritually. Your Spiritual Driver? As humans we try and control everything in our life, because we panic and worry when things happen that is out of our control.

I can attest to this. I have been facing many challenges and I have been trying to control and make things happen on my own, and guess what, my way has not been working. I have been in a very dark place. Confused. Praying, asking God why – why me? Telling Him I have done everything you have asked of me. I sow. I show up. I am obedient to your Word. So why am I in this place of confusion? I am so lost God. I keep asking and no answer. But, over the weekend I sat back and got quiet. I said to God I need answers and I need your guidance. I am so lost still no answer. And I sat still. Well after our Sunday Worship I received revelation from the message and from my sister in Christ. God was not answering because I still was in the driver seat. I need to move over to the passenger side and let God drive. I realized nothing that I was doing or trying to do on my own to correct the situations in my life were not working because I was still trying to be the driver; instead of being patient and waiting until God drives me to my destination.

I laughed at myself and said God that is all have to do is take my hand off of my circumstances and move over to the passenger seat? I feel one hundred percent lighter, because all the burdens have been released as I have given up control. I have placed all my burdens on my father and I am sure that He has me.

So I suggest if you are feeling like you are going nowhere fast, learn how to be the passenger. Take your hands off the steering wheel and let GOD drive.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER

I thank you God for my today, tomorrow, and new beginnings. I am so grateful for Your love and Your forgiveness. I know I have not allowed you to drive me in my darkness; I repent Lord. I trust You. I will now be the passenger and let You drive. I will not allow the enemy destroy or confuse me. I will not try and control things that are out of my control. I come expecting nothing but Your love, Your grace. I am so grateful for the things that You have done. Father, align us with Your purpose and give us strength to overcome any situation that the enemy may try to throw at us — in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
