Conforming to the Things of This World, Why?

DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].” – Romans 12:2 (AMP)

DEVOTIONAL

Just this past Sunday, June 5, 2016, my spiritual leader spoke of the actions and behaviors of the church from people who call confess to be saved, and children of God. I would like to say to you that our action precedes us, and becomes our name. Example/scenario: Amanda and a group of her friends were all standing around recapping a recent incident that had happen. They were all familiar with the parties who were involved; actually they all grew up together in the same neighbor. Amanda states: Hi, you guys did anyone hear about the incident with ole girl that be stealing all the time? Her Friends: They responded back, Yeah ole girl that be stealing all the time was arrested on Sunday right after church. Amanda: I wish that I was out at the front of the church whenever she was arrested, because I would have been laughing in her face.

The morale of the story is that as people we are known and associated by our works and our deeds, but often time’s people get to know your actions before they ever get a chance to meet you, the person. And, I should also mention that even when a child of Gods falls short of His grace and mercy; it is our job to lift them up, and not beat them down. Why don’t we look different than the world? Why have we conformed to the king’s meat? When will we begin to act like His set apart people? Join with me in prayer on today!

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER

I pray that we will all begin to walk in agreement with the calling that the Father has for our life. My prayer for us on today is that we will be known by the good works of the Lord, and not the works of this world. We will begin to work in the fruits of the Spirit and not in our flesh, and we will be called blessed. I prayer this prayer over everyone who is reading this on today, and I decree it and I declare it over our lives. In Jesus Name Amen, and Amen!
