A Mind for Change

DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

“Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.  Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.” – Psalm 51: 5-14

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Do you have a mind for change? If you are a child of God at some point, you had to experience some level of change in your life. In addition, as true believers once we give our life over to God, we are saying that we want to encounter a personal relationship with Him. However, having a relationship with God will initiate a cause for change, (the renewing of one’s mind), and this is not always easy. First, we must admit that we are sinners by nature and by our actions; then trust God to forgive us of all of our sins now that we have committed ourselves to living a faith based life. We are able to achieve this understanding by recognizing the reasoning behind His all-sufficient death on the cross as an advance for our sins. Therefore, we should all be willing to change and adapt a heart of God. A mind based on faith, and a passion for His kingdom. If you are ready for change, join me in the Sanctuary on today as we seek God for change through the renewing of our minds.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER

Father, on today we accept You into our lives for the rest of our lives. Father, we want to do right by You, and we desire change. God put into us a clean heart, one full of compassion, forgiveness, love, faith, ethics, and a willingness to change. Cover us with Your loving grace and mercy like only You can. Keep us hiding from the snares of our enemy. And, Father God please don’t forget to take out some time for me on today to help me make it through my current trials and tribulations that have been set before me. Open up doors that no man can shut, and close doors that should have never been open. Father God, we ask of You all of these things and all other things that You may have for us in Your Son’s Jesus name we pray – Amen and Amen!
