Blessing After Blessing

In the bible the  Hebrew word most often translated “bless” is “barak” and it means to kneel, to be blessed, or to cause to kneel. In the King James version of the Bible the word “blessed” is used 302 times, the word “bless” is mentioned 127 times, the word “blessing” 67 times and the word “blessings” 12 times. When the patriarchs blessed their children the children always knelt before the patriarch. When we kneel we are taking the position of humility.  I think there is much to learn from that, the blessing was received when taking a position of humility. It is in taking the road of humility and seating ourselves not at the head of the table but pulling out the apron and serving where we really open up the door to abundant blessings.

We are called to bless our enemies, to bless those who curse us. You see blessing is something that our Lord taught us to do. Blessing is something Jesus declared over the crowd that was cheering for His death, “Father forgive them they know not what they do.”  Our Lord was our example of how we are to bless others. He went about doing good, healing all who were sick.

Also, partaking of the blessed life is knowing you are blessed. You are born again, an heir to the Kingdom; a son or daughter of the most high God. You are blessed with the Holy Spirit living inside of you. You are blessed with spiritual gifts, with relationship with God and when we can “behold” that we are indeed blessed, blessings after blessings manifest in abundance. You attract what you believe.
