Crossing Out of Bondage

DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” – Galatians 5:1

 DEVOTIONAL

The greatest weapon of deception is bondage and it is caused by ignorance and strongholds. The primary goal of the enemy is to deceive us. The bondage of deception is very common, not one person on this earth has not been deceived in one way or another. We have to first understand who God is, and who we are in Christ in order for these bondages to be dissolved. And if we keep ourselves rooted in God’s Word, we will have the tools to pull down these strongholds. Jesus said, “That we should know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” I have, like many of you, have had people lie to me and deceive me until I allowed strongholds to take hold of me. I had to learn to take authority of these strongholds. I have had to make a decision to not let this spirit to come into my life and take control of me and I realized that I have power thru Christ to break this bondage, and I did just that. I have made every effort to get into my Word more each day and as a result it has become easier to recognize the deception — no longer am I ignorant to the whiles of the enemy.

Ignorance is a disease that needs to be defeated as we are destroyed by lack of knowledge! The enemy tries to put up a wall between us and God by making us feel that God does not love us, by making us feel like God is not true to His Words. But we have to be strong and be knowledgeable about the Word of God so that we can walk in revelation. It says that Jesus died for our sins so that we could experience the forgiveness of our Father, therefore, we should not  doubt that He love us. We cannot live contrary to the Word. The truth, I have died to my old self and I am and will not any longer be associated with my past. I am no longer a sinner. I have been washed by the blood of Jesus. I am a servant of God. I have been adopted into God’s royal family and as a child of God who has crossed over out of bondage, I am living in truth and freedom!

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER

Lord, I thank You for forgiving us of our sins. I thank You for another chance. Lord, we are not perfect, but we are grateful that You love us despite our wrong doing. God I come before You asking You to cast down the chains that have had us in bondage. You are a God of your Word and You said that You are here to protect; not destroy us. God I ask that You keep us grounded and focused on You as we face the deception that surrounds us. Help us to remain focused on You as we cross into new revelation. I also ask that You keep our relationships, remind each party involved that You can make anything possible and all we have to do is trust in Your Word. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
