Dear Mountain, You Must Move!

DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

“Jesus replied, “Have faith in God [constantly].  I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]. For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.” Mark 11: 22-24

DEVOTIONAL

2016, like most years for me has been one of challenges, confusion, upsets, disappointments, and some victories. Nevertheless, I have decided to make 2017 my best year ever. I am telling the devil that he cannot stop me, and I am ordering my mountains to move out of my way. I am no longer living life as a victim, but as a victor, and I am no one’s prisoner.

Being physically, mentally, and at time emotionally abused as a child, I took on the armor of a victim. I had convince myself that I was less than, and I would never amount to anything, but God determined that was a lie. Therefore, I am no longer tackling situations with a mindset of “I hope it will”, but I am going at situations and opportunities with a mindset of “What God has for me it is for me”, so my mountains have to move. I am standing tall in the midst of my mess, even if I am tired. I am not allowing someone else’s insecurities to transfer as my own. Moreover, my prayer is that you will take the same stance.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER

Father, situations in our lives do not always go the way we hope for them to go, or as we planned for them to go. Moreover, we confess that it is much easier for us to just throw in the towel whenever we are faced with hard times. However, we thank You for the authority that You have given to us to tell our mountain’s to move out of our way. We thank You for the comfort and peace You continuously offer in the midst of our mess; when we choose to only focus our heart on You. In Your Son Jesus Name, Amen.
