DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
“In addition to all this, take up the shield pf faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.” – Ephesians 6:16-17
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Confusion comes from the devil because there’s no truth in him. He is a master at trying to confuse us in many ways. His purpose is to confuse, confound, and mislead us. But we can’t allow him to get to us; we have to overcome it by reading the word and trusting in the Father. We must not allow ourselves to concentrate on the confusion or the lies, but instead rely on God’s Word, because He will not fail us. I used to allow the devil to confuse me a lot. I used to have mix feeling about if Georgia was a place where I wanted to be for the rest of my life or could it ever feel like home. Well, I know it will never be home, but I know it is here that we can have better for our family therefore, I had to fight off the confusion. Because the enemy was confusing me to prevent me from moving to a new level in my life. He wanted to distract and confuse me and to be honest, it was working at one point. But I quickly snapped out of it with the Word and my Pastor on my back. I knew that’s what the enemy was trying to do, but he did not succeed. I had to keep pressing because I knew I had a task to complete and I was determined to finish it.
I researched the word peace and the word peace is defined as a quiet and restful mind, not troubled by confusion and doubt. Corinthians 14:33 states, “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” As Believers we must not allow ourselves to focus on the confusion, but on the peace. I found that praying in the Spirit helps to bring us out of these times of confusion, because when we know not what to pray the Spirit will intercede for us. In the words of my Pastor Yolanda Douthit, we must pray without ceasing in the Spirit especially during those times when confusion abounds because we are promised peace that will surpass our understanding.
DEVOTIONAL PRAYER
God, I come before You today to bind the spirit of confusion because You are not the Author of confusion. I loose the spirit of TRUTH against every lie of the devil. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. I cancel every word of curse spoken over our children and over Your children in the name of Jesus. Lord I cancel and nullify, division and dissension in the body of Christ. I cancel unforgiveness, gossip, jealousy, envy, and harassment. God we release love power, and sound mind in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
