Do all Lives Matter?

DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

“Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:23-29

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

In the past if you were to have asked a person if all lives matter they would’ve probably look at you as if you had fives eyes, as a few years ago most people would have viewed that as a rhetorical question — some people may still have this view today. However, I think that its necessary to question that idea now, and not just asked but also request it be answered. It baffles me that there are some that have the perception that you have to look or act a certain way before they acknowledge, value or respect you as a person? I recently had an incident that forced me to question do all lives really matter. There is an old saying that says, “We all are somebody because God doesn’t make junk”? If we were all made by God why is it that a certain race of people are being treated as junk? Why is it that a certain class of people are discarded and treated inhumanely? I ask that you join us here today in the Sanctuary as we sound off with an affirmation of prayer over all our lives – as they all matter to God!

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER

Repeat after me, I am nothing now and will never be anything without Christ Jesus, and I can do nothing without Him. I will not give attention to the world because through Christ we are all children of God. No, we don’t deserve it, but God loved us before we loved Him. He calls all men to repent and believe the gospel. We will not let Satan discourage us. We will attack his lies with the Word of God. Satan is just mad that the Holy Spirit is inside of us, he’s just mad that God is working in us and will continue doing so; he’s just mad that we’re God’s treasured possession. We can’t get into Heaven on our own and as a Believer we can never ever repay Jesus for what He has done. So we will praise Jesus daily. Even if the enemy is constantly trying to tell us that we are worthless, we will tell Him my God does not think so. God knows our names. Jesus was thinking about us when He died. We will live our lives for the King, because our lives matter, too.
