Find Joy

DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

Delight yourself also in the Lord: and he shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4)

DEVOTIONAL

Worry. Stress. Disappointment. Bitterness. Yes, these were the characteristics that I would used to express my state of being in previous years. I tried to get rid of them on my own, but let’s just say I was not successful. I used to ask myself, what if I could replace those feelings with joy, peace, laughter and forgiveness. I used to wonder if these qualities would allow me to triumph in my life and finally bring the transformation I have desperately searched for.

I had to realize that I lived in a world filled with unimaginable pain and hardship, but then I had to remember that God promised me an  abundant life, overflowing with joy; joy that was deeper than any situation I faced and greater than any person I met. Can you imagine such joy? I can, it’s a joy that does not depend on people or any circumstances that I face. When I found joy I felt like I was walking on clouds, because the joy that I feel showcases the majesty of God to those around me and brings glory toHis beautiful Name.

This is what the Father offers us. It is part of our birthright as children of God. But are we willing to claim such joy? I know I am. I am ready to claim it and take charge. We as is children have to reclaim our joy. But we need to prepare for the most important growth in life, the growth to achieve eternal Joy!

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER

Father, we ask your assistance in letting go of ideals, old patterns or habits that no longer serve us, arguments and limiting beliefs. May we remember that letting go is a healthy practice to maintain joy and peace within our hearts as well as our lives. Amen.
