Get Your Life More Abundant!

Meditation Passage: John 1

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” – John 1:14 (NLT)

The Body of Christ is in a very exciting and holy time. We are in the Season of Joy, the Feast of Tabernacles (Lev.23). In ancient times, the final agricultural harvest took place in the beginning of the autumn, during the Feast of Tabernacles. During this time, the people were intensely busy harvesting and celebrating the abundance. But during a special moment in time, many were traveling to their native cities to celebrate this sacred feast (Duet. 16:16) and to take part in special census called by Caesar Augustus (Luke 2:1-7). There was also a special couple making their way to Bethlehem for the feast, as well as the census. And in a small booth underneath the stars in Bethlehem, is where Jesus arrived on the scene. As  it initially looked like a random birth, a few people knew of Jesus’ coming, but most were unaware of the plans that had been made in heaven in order to bring us a Savior. The Gospel of John gives us a glimpse into the background planning that went into bringing Jesus to us. The birth of Christ was more than a simple occasion of a young woman giving birth in a booth, to which shepherds and wise men would come to visit. This was an occasion that God had choreographed to rescue people from all nations. Let’s rejoice today, that the Harvest has come and that our loving Father made His dwelling on earth for us!  Literally, His appearance made “The Word became flesh.” It was the fulfillment of prophecy.  He  “pitched His tent” and “tabernacled amongst us” so that we would never have to thirst or be hungry again, but have an abundant, rich, and satisfying life (John 1, John 10).

Prayer

Jesus, the Word, we thank you for pitching your tent right where we are in life so that we can dwell with you everyday of our life. We praise you for your great plans and works of salvation, Lord Jesus. Help us to see the amazing love you have shown in coming to be with us to save us, and also help us to get our life more abundant by understanding and believing the plan of divine destiny that you’ve created just for us – Amen.
