Devotional Scripture
Have you ever come on anything quite like the extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It’s way over our heads. We’ll never figure it out. Is there anyone around who can explain God? Anyone smart enough to tell him what to do? Anyone who has done him such a huge favor that God has to ask his advice? Everything happens through him; Everything ends up in him. Always glory! Always praise! Yes. Yes. Yes.
Romans 11: 33-36 (The Message)
Just as I sat down to write this article a troubling situation came up that I have to face. It is something that involves someone I love dearly and something I have to confront yet, also is out of my control. So the irony that God leads me to share a song today about how “God’s got it’ and right away I have to make a decision do I really believe that with all my heart? Does God have my loved one? Can He really go into this situation and make it work for good? Like the scripture ends with the answer is yes. yes and yes!
Even on our best days we cannot change anyone, we cannot erase the past, we cannot prevent ourselves from facing trials and temptations. We can only choose how we are going to respond to them. Our first response needs to be to pray. There is only one who can truly turn things around. There is only one who knows everything and has every resource we could ever need to accomplish His purpose in our lives and our loved ones lives.
God’s got every solution to every problem you are faced with today and every problem you will ever face the rest of your journey here on earth. The enemy would have you worry, fret, try to fix something you know you cannot fix in an attempt to steal your peace and joy and rest. I want to encourage you to cast your cares on Him for He cares for you. He cares for your children, your spouse, your home, your job, my goodness – He cares to know how many hairs you lost in your hairbrush this morning. If He is keeping the earth in it orbits, the sky from falling and the ocean from spilling over, He can handle the events in your life. He can handle your finances, your prodigal child, health issues – He can handle everything! Seek Him. Rest in Him. Ask Him to reveal His glory in the situation your faced with, as He is faithful.
God’s got it, let go and let Him move on your behalf.
Prayer of Worship
Heavenly Father, we ask You to give us revelation in our hearts of Your goodness and allow us to know that You care for every detail of our lives because You love us. I pray that you would move in the hearts of Your children and show up mightily in the very area we are struggling in the most. You are the beginning and the end – there is no one greater then you. We are dependent on you mighty God, and we thank you for helping us in all things. We give you the glory and praise in Jesus name. – Amen
