“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy…” – 1 Peter 1:8
I love this verse because there is so much depth to it. So often we look to what we see in our lives to determine our joy. Yet here it says that not just joy but joy inexpressible and full of glory is found not in what we see or have seen but in believing in Him! This joy in such abundance that there are no words to describe it, is in the believing not the seeing. Isn’t this opposite of what the world tries to market and sell us on a day to day basis? If you only buy this product, lose weight, vacation here or meet that man or woman of your dreams on our site you shall find true happiness. Well maybe in a way they are right, you feel happy for the moment because happiness is something that can be temporary and based on circumstance. Yet joy inexpressible, the world can’t sell us that. There is only One who has made that possible and that is Jesus Christ. He is our abundance and our joy. We don’t have to see him, we just have to believe him. And in the believing, trusting and leaning is where the abundant joy is. In Jesus, all the promises of God are yes and amen and in the Word are many promises of joy to grab hold of. It is through believing in the Word and meditating on those promises that we will love and rejoice with joy. I want that, I believed a lie for so long that joy was a product of circumstances being just right .The Word shows us despite any hardship or trial we can have joy and it doesn’t require money or toil. It is in Jesus. I encourage you today if you haven’t been living with joy inexpressible meditate on the Word, find scriptures that promise you joy and feast on them till that breakthrough comes!

Jesus we rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory that our names are written in the Book of Life. Through your shed blood we rejoice in our salvation. There is no greater joy then knowing that we have been saved by you! Thank you!
