My Ways Are Not Your Ways

Devotional Scripture

“No temptation has overtaken you that are not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13

This week has been a trying week for me, and the Father is saying to me despite what you are experiencing you must “complete your leg of this race because there is someone else that you must pass this baton to so, don’t miss the mark by allowing the sins of others to throw you off course”. The Father grants us all free Will, free Will to serve Him or not to serve Him. Free Will to love thy neighbor or to hate thy neighbor, and the free Will to be angry and sin not, or to act out in one’s anger.

Has someone done something to you or to someone you love, and you just wanted to retaliate against them? Or maybe their actions have hardened your heart? Think back, maybe someone on your job caused you to lose a promotion, a client, or even money. Now that you have a visual of this person in your head, access your heart. Does the mere thought of this person make you anger, upset, or agitated? If, these feelings or any other negative feelings have surfaced in your heart whenever you thought about a person who has wronged you, then maybe you should consider an alternative. Seeking Jesus. Because as Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways our ways, says the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts.”

Enter into Prayer

Heavenly Father we come to You asking that You would align our lives in a way that will begin to produce the fruit that will enable the Will that You have for our lives. Lord, be our number one business partner within our business, our counselor on our jobs and at home, and please continue to be our light in a dark world. Teach us how to have those intimate conversations with you, and to wait on your response. And most of all Father, allow us to operate in peace in the midst or our storms. I pray for this release over our lives in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
