Seeing Him In The Darkness

DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”  Colossians 1:14
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Can you be in God’s will and be in total, complete, darkness?  Yes!
I have been in difficult situations that I know I was in God’s will for my life, and I felt as though I was in complete and total hell. I wanted to react in my flesh and remove myself from the situations, but I couldn’t even do that as I could not see my way out. And it was in these situations that I grew and matured in my faith. What I learned, and remains to be the most valuable lesson, is that in the overwhelming darkness is where I received the greatest grace, saw my Father’s Divine and Loving Hand and experienced the greatest reward.
My Father’s forgiveness, love and goodness as the capacity to always fill every need in our circumstances, every hunger of our heart, every longing of our soul for peace and assurance. His redemption is able to fulfill every desire for our well-being and to save us from the things that have caused us to miss the mark. Although it may now seem as though you are separated from that which has been your greatest source of comfort, security, or supply, remember: the LORD is always there to save you. No matter what seems to be missing from your life—be it a much-loved person or a feeling of well-being—know that when you pray God’s light, His divine activity will move in and through you. Let your thoughts be lifted up knowing that His Light can illuminate your way to a new more abundant way of life. Let the presence of God dissolve your fears, doubts and remove every unbelief. No matter how great the gulf seems between you and the solution to your deepest desire, you call on Jehovah-Shammah as He is the light of our salvation and is always there.
DEVOTIONAL MEDITATION
Begin to relax from the strain and effort of questioning, planning, and reasoning. Take a few moments to ask God: I need your help to let this go so that You can fill my need. Your prayers will be more effective, and your understanding of the presence of God within you will be clearer. When you ask our Lord God to help you, walk in the knowledge that He will never desert you or forsake you.
