Are You Sowing into What’s Feeding You?

Devotional Scripture

“Moreover, we will bring to the storerooms of the house of our God, to the priests, the first of our ground meal, of our grain offerings, of the fruit of all our trees and of our new wine and olive oil. And we will bring a tithe of our crops to the Levites, for it is the Levites who collect the tithes in all the towns where we work.  A priest descended from Aaron is to accompany the Levites when they receive the tithes, and the Levites are to bring a tenth of the tithes up to the house of our God, to the storerooms of the treasury.  The people of Israel, including the Levites, are to bring their contributions of grain, new wine and olive oil to the storerooms, where the articles for the sanctuary and for the ministering priests, the gatekeepers and the musicians are also kept. “We will not neglect the house of our God.” Nehemiah 10:37-39

Devotional

Have you been living a life of just good enough, and you have this desire burning in the inside of you for something greater? Well, my question to you is “are you feeding what is feeding you, are you giving God back His portion, or are you feeding your own flesh”? The Father is telling me to just remind His people of His Word, and as you remember it, it will and it cannot come back void. So, I come to just drop off His Word to you line upon line and precepts upon precept.

“Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.  In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,  but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Genesis 4: 3-7

Devotional Prayer

Lord, I pray that we Your people will begin to become stewards over our first fruits as well as our finances. God, help us to understand the value of giving you our best even though it does not even measure up to Your worse. And, that we will give with a cheerful heart so that we find favor in Your eyes. Lord, we thank you right now for our transformation in your Holy Spirit and we will no longer neglect Your house.
