Together as One

Devotional Scripture:
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. – Ephesians 4:4-6
Devotional
Coming from a place of not connecting with those you were raised around, grew up with or been in a relationship with, you often feel like an outcast. Deep down you desire something else but from learned behaviors, due to your surroundings, overshadow your emotions and those emotions control your decision making. This often times put you in positions to compromise and lower your standards even if you weren’t aware that you had any. However, something in you just know these relationships aren’t right, but you find yourself often compromising and then you find yourself trying to make it work or working hard to prevent situations from boiling out of control. As I became a mentee with Pastor Yolanda, I saw something and experienced something different. I have learned how to grow out of these cycles. I’ve been able to connect with people, express my thoughts from my inner core, control my emotions, embrace being an outcast but most importantly, I’m able to connect with beautiful individuals who are in the same space I am. We all are going through our own journeys, yet we are able to come as one. Our path leads to One Body and it’s a blessing to be able to have those you feel safe with even if you never met them in person.

The connection of God is unbelievable in The Sanctuary, but I won’t doubt what I’m experiencing. I just know I finally found someone, I never want to let go of, a place I want to reside in for the rest of my life.

We are One Body and One Spirit.
