We Are One….

Devotional Scripture
“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”- Ephesians 4:4-6

Coming from a place of not connecting with those you  grew up with and often times feeling as though you are an outcast, its hard to find relationships that you feel like you trust to allow your heart to feel. Deep down you desire something else but from learned behaviors, due to your surroundings, it overshadows the good you desire; your emotions control the decisions you make. And this puts you in positions to compromise and lower your standards even if you weren’t aware you had any, you just know it wasn’t right – but you want to make it work or prevent the situation from boiling over.
In my journey as a mentee with Pastor Yolanda, I’ve learned how to connect with people; express my thoughts from my inner core; control my emotions; embrace being an outcast; but most importantly I’m able to connect with beautiful individuals who are in the same space that I am in. We all are going through our own journey, yet we are able to come together as one. Our paths are being lead into One Body and it’s a blessing to be able to have those you feel safe with; even if you’ve never met them.
The connection of God is unbelievable.
And  I made a decision that I won’t doubt what I’m experiencing. I just know I finally found someone I never want to let go of and a place I want to reside in for the rest of my life.
One Body. One Spirit.
