Devotional Scripture
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” – Ephesians 6:12
No matter how hard I try to walk away from this subject matter the Father will not allow me to, if there were ever a time in this world that we needed to fall down on our face seeking the Lord through prayer and supplication that time is definitely now. The Father is saying to each of us through His Divine Providence, that He wants us to learn a new habit, trust. Think about who His is, His Almighty Power, the miracles that He continues to perform, and the promises that He continues to fulfill for His people, and this should not be hard. God has sovereign control over this world. So I charge all of us to ask ourselves what war are we currently fighting and how are we fighting this war? Try repeating “Father I trust totally in You”. We continue to see brutal attacks on individuals as well as Believers surfacing in the news and media. But this war is not about any individual groups or individuals, it’s about a spiritual warfare on earth as well as in heaven, and the enemy is seeking to destroy souls. So instead of taking to the streets in anger and arguing about what the government needs to do or what our society needs to do; you should take it to the Lord in prayer because He is the only One who can fix it, because to Him, All Lives Matter!
Prayer
Father we take to you today in prayer about all things great and small concerning this world because we know that You are the only One who can turn it around, and make us victorious over the enemy. Father we vow to stay steadfast on our prayer post instead of taking to the streets or the media with anger. We will love our enemies, and pray for our enemies even though they despitefully misuse us. I pray also that whenever we speak, words may be given to us so that we will fearlessly make known the mysteries of the gospel, for which we are an ambassador bonded by your Word. I pray that we may declare it fearlessly as You command of us in Jesus name I pray, Amen!
