DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, It does not boast, It is not proud. It is not rude, It is not self-seeking, It is not easily angered, It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
DEVOTIONAL
There are many marriages that suffer from trust issues. Early in my marriage we were challenged with trust issues – it was not immune from the struggles of a love that did not trust. We learned quickly that if we wanted our marriage to work we had to rebuild trust, and it took the both of us to make it work. Let me tell you it was not easy. One thing I had to learn is that when you create a situation that broke down the walls of trust, you have to put in the most work to make it right again. God was not pleased in how our marriage was suffering from this, so He shook us up with situations that forced us to work together. And the process drew us closer and let us know how important we are to each other. We also learned that we could not do it without His Love as the center of our union and that we must work as a team. But most importantly, I discovered that no situation is to difficult for My God.
He can restore the real love and trust back into the marriage, if you allow Him. When Christ is the center of your marriage or any relationship it will prosper greatly and never fail. As with this pure love, you will not have to hide who you are or your truth, because you know you are forgiven in Christ. And when you allow the love of Christ to flow thru you and into your marriage you will experience what 2 Corinthians 2:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come!“
DEVOTIONAL PRAYER
God I come before you today to ask that you heal all marriages that are in your sight. Let them be one again. Let them place you back into their vows to honor their vows. Let them know that all is forgiven and that all things are new, they are entering into a new and fresh start. Father, I ask you to bring clarity, bring trust, and bring wisdom. Allow your light to let us know that you are the Creator and You can make all things right. Let us focus on your Word Lord, so that we focus on nothing but things that are of You. God, I just want to say thank you for bringing forth light, wisdom and trust in Jesus Name. Amen
